Dog Microchip Identification

Microchips are tiny transponders, about the size of a grain of rice, that use radio frequency waves to transmit information about your dog. A dog microchip is a permanent identification, in case your dog is lost. The process is similar to a routine shot, takes only a few seconds, and your pet will not react any more than he would to a vaccination.

In the event your dog is missing, most veterinary clinics or shelters will scan your cat to see if the pet has been microchipped. It is read by passing a microchip scanner over the pets shoulder blades. The scanner emits a low radio frequency that provides the power necessary to transmit the microchips unique dog ID code and positively identify the pet.

At Care Animal Hospital, we utilize two of the nation’s leading microchipping companies, HomeAgain and DATAMARS. DATAMARS is an internationally recognized ISO Microchip, that is tracked domestically as well as internationally. The registration is FREE and the cost is the same as a domestic microchip.

Dog microchip identification could be the best hope of returning your canine friend back home to your family.

Care Animal Hospital Wellness Plans

“A person who has never owned a dog has missed a wonderful part of life.”

Bob Barker

We call them ‘Man’s Best Friend’ for a reason.

For hundreds of years, our canine companions have brought joy and laughter into the home – as well as protection for those that need it.

Many of us look at our dogs as members of the family and with that in mind we should make sure that they’re getting the proper medical and nutritional care they need to stay happy and healthy for years to come. At Care Animal Hospital, we’ve worked with thousands of dogs and puppies for more than 25 years to protect them against disease and protect them when they are sick.
